Restrict entry to divisions to specific membership types

Currently, membership options do not link in any way to event divisions. This causes issues where athletes enter into divisions that they should not. For example, USASA have issues with snowboarders entering ski events, and visa versa. They also have issues age-group athletes enter the open division, and this can cause major issues for regional and national rankings

This was under consideration as we reviewed how to improve division registrations. We have progressed with an alternative solution which uses custom fields (more here: https://liveheats.canny.io/product-initiatives/p/division-eligibility-based-on-gender). Therefore this suggestion, which we acknowledge would still be useful, is moving back to 'open' status for future consideration.

IFSA offer coach memberships, which doesn't restrict coaches from entering events as athletes. Additionally, they offer one-time athlete memberships, but coach memberships are unlimited, overwriting the one-time athlete purchase.

"Hey guys,
It noticed that some people are joining the ESA as a non-competitor member ($35) instead of paying the $75 for membership to compete and the system is allowing them to register for local events.
Is there any way for LH to not allow them to register for events? If not, we may have to remove that type of membership as it seems people are figuring out the workaround.
The reports only show that they are active and doesn't distinguish between non competing or competing member."

Agreed, the opportunity for registering in the wrong division is there. Being able to restrict registration to membership (snowboard/free ski) is a feature we would like to work toward to eliminate the corrections required prior to an event. Many times an athlete / parent does not see the error until they see the initial start list or attend the riders meeting.
