For federations, being able to easily report on membership changes across organisations is important to see membership health and also provides the ability to highlight and celebrate top performing organisations at annual board meetings.

For rolling memberships, past member numbers can't be analysed because members simply have a single membership for all-time, with an updated expiry date, with no historic data on their active periods.
